  • Planting and Visiting.

A morning trip with the girls to the nursery and we had (almost) all we needed to finish up the garden.
    {I still need a few herbs from a farm nearby}

It’s all planted now. All the vegetables.
We’re dreaming of tomatoes and feta.

It’s been all Sunshine and blue skies this week.
Except for a quick storm that passed through yesterday evening…
leaving us with a beautiful sky on our way to my Grandparents house.

They had us over for dinner.  My Grandma made bacon wrapped asparagus for one of her side dishes.
It was heavenly.  I ate way too much. It’s really easy to do at their house…Really easy.

A walk by their lake at sunset. The boys wanted to fish.
It was getting too late…I think afternoon plans today are going to include fishing poles. ;)

The sunset was absolutely Gorgeous. So pink. So purple. So Awesome.
    God’s creation is breathtaking.

Finishing up the evening with what my Grandpa does Best….
    1. Load up the Grandkids with sugar.
    2. Send home.

    Have a lovely day.

  • Dearest Liz,  Do you have the asparagus recipe from your Grandma.  I might actually get my family to eat this if it had bacon on it.  Looks sooooo yummy!  Your Grandma is beautiful.  The pictures of the rainbow and sunset very pretty.  You have a gift for capturing God’s glory with your words and your camera.

    Blessings and hugs,  Cindy

  • Oh that sunset!

And the asparagus……I would eat WAY too much too.

  • Your grandfather’s t-shirt is hilarious!  :)

  •   We were there Sunday, and YES, we ate too much too…Mostaccioli, meatballs, It. saus., eggplant parm., salad, etc., etc.,… Isn’t it wonderful, all their food is comfort food

  • The bacon wrapped asparagus looks heavenly! And yes, I would love to have the recipe also

  • how special that your kiddos get to know and spend time with their great grandparents!
Wow that sunset is amazing and the reflection makes it even more spectacular!

  • Your grandparents look so sweet! And bacon-wrapped asperagus as a side dish?? WOW. Sounds like you inherited those good cooking genes honestly. :)

Sometimes I wish to live in a place where we could grow a wonderful, huge garden, enough to eat from and freeze from and can from. The soil here is so sandy, and gardens are so difficult to grow that few people do it! So sad! I have such memories of growing up in Pennsylvania with a HUGE garden. Some not so good memories of laboring away picking roooooooooows of green beans. :) But there is something so wonderful about growing your own vegetables and eating them! I would love to see pictures of your garden. :)

    Happy Thursday!

  • Oh my ~ what a glorious sunset!

  • That picture of the sunset over the lake is so gorgeous Elizabeth!  That asparagus wrapped bacon looks awesome and is making my mouth water just looking at it.  Fun memories being made!

  • I am getting over to the garden today…I haven’t seen how things are growing since I am back.  I am glad yours is in!  That is exciting!  I am also going to the farm stand.  I am so so blessed that we have a little organic farm right nearby in the valley (about 10 min) so I can buy the things we don’t grow or don’t have enough of.

That picture over the lake is stunning.  What beauty!

Your Grandparents sound and look like the best.  What fun to go visit and eat and for all of you to be spoiled a bit!
