Fashion Tip Friday ~
Fashion Tip Friday is back.
Today….Colored Pants.
could you? should you? will you?Are you wondering about age? Do you feel too old to pull them off.
{not literally…. unless you have a bad knee or something, then maybe you won’t be able to pull them off,
but that’s not what I meant. Ha!}Well, here’s my opinion about the whole ordeal.
Women. Yes, yes you can no matter your age.
Just make sure you get the right cut. If you’re a lady, don’t shop in the junior section!
Save them for the 16 year olds.
*This does not mean to buy stretchy, puffy pants..it just means to find a pair that fits you nicely.Young Girls. Absolutely, they look adorable.
Men. It depends. It really, really depends.
Although according to my husband there is no “it depends”.
To him the answer is a very loud and clear NO.
I think a dark color with the right shirt is okay.So I was shopping with my son and jokingly said…How about this outfit?
We laughed and wondered who on earth!?
Two days later while in the city….
Couldn’t believe my eyes. I don’t think I ever grabbed my phone faster.
{Completely off subject, but look at those golden beets. not the red, but the golden!
Oh how I will miss them all winter long. Know if I find them in a store I will buy!}So what do you think?
Colored pants? Yes. No.Happy Weekend.

Hmmm. A big fat maybe for me and colored pants. It’s been a long time since I’ve worn them and I was probably 20 pounds thinner and 20 years younger. I’ll try some on next week when I go to the city but I can imagine I’ll either look like an eggplant or a fat zucchini. I love that you spotted someone in the very shirt you and your son laughed about! Ya NEeeever know, right? Oh, and do golden beets taste like the red ones?
@Richgem - They taste way better! They are a little sweeter and a bit more mellow. They still taste like a beet though. and the Best! part…they don’t get your hands all dirty when you cut them up. You have to try them! and…you will look fabulous in colored pants! =)
Yes, I love the look of colored pants, but I am with Gail, don’t know if I can wear them myself. I would pick dark teal, wine burgundy, or red if I could pull it off. When I was a teen someone gave me some purple fine wale cords, and I thought they were soooooo cool. I do own a mossy green pair of pants that go with a suit, but I hardly ever wear them because I feel a bit self conscious.
We will see.
Guys? Definitely for little boys, not so sure about the big guys.
Colored pants can look good on girls but I don’t think I’ll be wearing them any time soon. I guess I like to be a safe fashion expert
That’s too funny about your outfit…What are the chances?! Personally I’m not digging guys wearing really skinning jeans or loud colored pants and have to agree with Jeff
Never had yellow beets but they sound interesting and if I see them I’ll have to try them out some time. It’s been ages since we ate beets around here.
Maddie is insisting on a pair!! Me. Well…..not so much.
I beg to differ on the men in colored pants:)
Here are photos of my family, with my brothers wearing colored pants.
I think they look pretty good, when done right!
I am loving colored pants!! I have a friend who has a red pair and an aqua colored pair that she rocks out. And another friend that has a bright blue pair that looks awesome. I own a red pair, but still haven’t worn them in public. I think they are a great trend, but must be worn with care. And I would tend to agree with Jeff about the colored pants on guys! That is TOO funny that you saw that guy wearing almost the exact same outfit you had laughed over!
Laughing about the poor guy wearing the outfit that the Fashion Expert deemed as “who in the world would ever —??”
I think they’re especially cute on younger girls (and I would include myself in the “younger girls” category! ha! )
I’ve seen some really really cute outfits with colored pants. I do think a more slender figure looks better in the colored, and a fuller figure looks better in dark jeans. The bright is fun, but certain shapes can have attention drawn exactly where they DON’T want it!!
On guys? Um, not on my husband, please.
I love them! I have red and blue. Would love to add a rust color to my collection. I even have my eyes set on printed jeans (a discreet black/gray pattern). I’ve ever more lost my mind. lol
Eh, not a big fan. And that dude!! I betcha he was shopping the same store, same day, just a few paces behind you and couldnt believe his good fortune when he saw someone had put this ensemble together just For Him!!!;)
I’ve been wanting to try them! I saw a pair of dark teal skinny jeans and almost bought them… but I chickened out. What colors do you like best Liz?
So funny that you say a guy wearing the same horrible outfit you had mocked earlier!!
@Elizabethmarie_1 - I may decide to try yellow beets. I hated beets as a kid, but I can serve the yellows to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner! Maybe I can also find a pair of yellow beet pants and then I’d say I look like a yellow beet.
“could you? should you? will you?” makes me think of seuss’s green eggs and ham.
i could! i ummmmcough should! i will! in a house with a mouse…in a box with a fox. but haven’t yet. not sure that i want that particular part of me highlighted. at least not in a bright color. but alas. the bright ones are my favs. i really am loving the yellow ones that i see.
and i’m just dying laughing about “… who on earth!?”
Being in the city I see them a lot, and I do love them! They would never work for me (I agree with the commenter above that they look good on thinner people), but some people can really rock them! Guys, too.
Although, college age guys wear them best IMHO.
On ladies? Maybe.
Just the other my husband & I were shopping and this subject came up. I was quite relieved to to find out that he will never come home from a shopping trip with colored pants for himself
Men? Never on my man!
