Sunday afternoon. Herb farm. with my kids.
So happy to be planting. So excited to cook with fresh herbs again!
Everything tastes so much better fresh from the ground.
We’re hoping to get our garden planted this coming week/weekend.
Lots of work, but so worth it.
Happy planting.

I need fresh herbs. Can I have some of yours?
Wonderful! I have peas up in the garden and lots more planting to do. Spent some time weeding this morning. Happy Planting!
Oh what FUN!! I love the taste of fresh herbs in cooking too – there is something so fun about popping in those fresh-from-the-garden herbs.
I kind of get stuck in a rut though – I use basil and oregano and chives, and after that I don’t know how to use the others! Maybe you can post some recipes.

We started planting this week. We got in some green beans, broccoli, and okra. Have more to do tonight after T-ball practice. I think I need to replant my Basil b/c it never came up.
@zanyzeal - Unfortunately…basil is one of those annual herbs. So you have to plant it each year. I think we live about 4-5 hours apart, if you were closer I’d give you some….I have extra basil plants!!! Two different varieties.
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - Of course you can have some…in the fall when I dry some and they can safely make it in the mail.
@lifeisadance - Thyme is really fun to plant! It’s one of my favorites and I use it in EVERYTHING. It’s so good with onions and potatoes and butter and a little rosemary. I also use it in my chicken soup all winter. It’s strong when it’s fresh, and a little more fragrant when it dries out.
hooray for planting season again! and just when we thought it’d never get here again!

@TrentTribe - haha. me too!
@Elizabethmarie_1 - Yeah, I planted it in a cute little owl planter I was hoping to keep in the kitchen. I tried to grow it by the seed so at this point I’ll probably just grab some plants that are already started. Is some basil better then other basil?
