This is Jeff’s and my bed the morning after a big thunderstorm. We had some company in the middle of the night, someone was “tared!”
It’s been a pretty crumby spring around here. Chilly and lots of rain, the most since 1929 I heard. We still however, have made quite a few visits to the nursery.
We did get all our flowers planted, and our garden put in.
Today is actually a really sunny day, that always makes for a happy morning and………
We are leaving early tomorrow morning for vacation. So everyone is in a happy mood to begin with, the sunshine is just topping it off. We are going with Jeff’s whole family~ His parents rented a humungous cabin for everyone to stay in, his brother, sister and their families, his aunt and uncle, and cousin. There will be twenty two of us all together.
So the past two days have been busy here getting ready to leave. I have made myself a promise to be organized and ready earlier than my usual last minute self. Let’s see if I can do it.
~ 13 lbs. of Tacos made (Some of us are taking turns with meals, so I thought tacos would be easy to freeze and take along.)
~Triple batch of M&M cookies, currently finishing baking those. They are making the house smell good this morning.
~Everyone is almost packed.
~Laundry is almost finished, I just want to get everyone’s sheets for their beds washed and hung out on the line to dry. It’s always such a good feeling to come back and go to sleep in your own bed after a trip, so I like to have sheets and pillows fresh and clean!
My girls are visiting at my mom’s house. They have slept their the past two nights, and don’t want to come home. They never want to leave Nana’s. Tyler went to work with Jeff today, so it’s just Alex and Sam with me. The house is so different with only two kids here. It’s very, very quiet.
Well, if I want to be organized and ready, I better get off of this time sucker! I have lots to do today!

I hear ya on all the lousy spring.. we’ve had so much rain here too. I don’t mind the rain so much.. but it makes things dark and dreary – and that gets to my mood after awhile!.

I hope you guys have fun! We have had some pretty bad weather also. We actually saw a funnel cloud almost touch down about 3 houses down the other afternoon! Scared us soooo bad. We don’t normaly get tornados around here. Poor Treasure is terrified now, even of the blue skies
It seems we have been having way more rain then normal also. I just would like it to be warm enough to put up our pool for the kids. Kids cooped up inside too many rainy days can be quite trying. Hope you have a great vacation.

just thinking of you this afternoon as I smell my yummy cherry crumb scent filling the house – saw my cute sunflower in the window while doing the dishes after lunch – and the great american flag on the chalk board!!!!
AND… getting ready to head out to piano lessons… dressed in my sundress that looks like yours with THE MOST PERFECT leather flip flops!!!
